Description

SOFFI® is an integrated approach to supporting oral feeding in preterm and in medically complex infants.  This Hybrid Expanded course includes both an online and a live, in-person portion, and provides the practitioner with evidence-based information regarding feeding development as well as assessment and intervention strategies.  This course expands the time spent on assessment and intervention, using case studies and small group work.  The Hybrid Expanded course consists of a total of twelve modules, with a 10-question quiz attached to each module.  Each module has its own objectives, but the overall objectives of the certificate course are listed below.  To become a SOFFI® Certified Professional and receive continuing education credits, you must complete both the Foundation (online) and Completion (in-person) portions.  To complete the SOFFI® Hybrid Expanded Course Foundation, you will need to watch all eight modules, and pass all eight quizzes.  All of these completion requirements (viewing the videos, completing quizzes and evaluation) must be finished no later than three days prior to the start of the live course.  To complete the SOFFI® Hybrid Expanded Course Completion, you will attend the live two-day event, pass the quizzes associated with these four modules, and complete the course evaluation.  The quizzes and the evaluation must be completed within three days of the end of the live SOFFI® Hybrid Expanded Course Completion.  Participants may not attend the SOFFI® Hybrid Expanded Course Completion if they have not completed the prerequisite Foundation portion.  Continuing education hours will not be reported until both portions of the course are completed.

Learner outcomes will be assessed with quizzes as well as self-reflection after the online and in-person training have been completed.
