SUMMARY:Developing Skills for Healthy Eating
DESCRIPTION:Across the first one-to-two years\, the source of nutrition for infants transitions from a strictly liquid diet to a textured table food diet. Developmental skills support these transitions\, and the domains of development involved include oral motor\, gross and fine motor\, and even cognition. As the infant matures\, their way of thinking about the world in general and food specifically changes. Parents are the first influencers\, but over time the child is also influenced by other people and the environment. This presentation will address the acquisition of these skills across domains within the first five years of life.
